About Me

Alex Leondedis (he/him/his) is an actor, director, voice actor, teaching artist, and theatre-maker currently based and working in Boston, Massachusetts. Alex is a proud graduate of the fourth class of the B.F.A. Contemporary Theatre program at Boston Conservatory at Berklee.

Alex is originally from Overland Park, Kansas. Yeah. Kansas. He knows. Alex grew up there where he, among many other Midwestern activities, watched and eventually worked in community theatre. That was where his love of acting and theatre was born. He eventually made his way out of the Midwest and has now made a little home in Boston.

Alex is passionate about the development and creation of new work, creative collaboration and non-hierarchical rehearsal rooms, and making theatre more inclusive and accessible for all! Alex believes theatre needs to be accessible, anti-racist, and collaborative to truly be an art form that is both representing of and for a wide community of people.

When not doing theatre, which is a rare occurrence, Alex enjoys riding his bike around Boston, reading, and getting into heated arguments about film with his roommates.

Alex Leondedis Expanded Artistic Statement

Alex is a profound believer and practitioner in collaborative, ensemble-generated theatre. Work that is created together, with as many distinct and diverse voices in the room as possible, leads to stronger work, more personal and true material, and greater art. Alex endeavors to create, work in, and facilitate these kinds of rehearsal rooms and ensembles. Alex strives to uphold and implement Anti-Racism, Pro-Indigenous, Eco-Friendly, and equitable practices in both his artistry and his personal life. Alex believes that Anti-Racist practices, non-hierarchical rehearsal rooms, accessible and inclusive methods of working and sharing, and theatre built and based in collaboration are all essential to making quality and truly communal theatre. And underneath all of that, Alex seeks to infuse everything he does with an element of humor and play. Because isn’t that what theatre is all about?

Alex also works as a teaching artist, sharing his theater expertise and devising methods with students to be able to take agency and tell their own stories. Alex wants to share in theatre creation with the next generation of artists, and help them create in any way he can.

Alex wants to make and work on creative theatrical performances that tell resonant stories for the community where they are told, in an attempt to bring people together through storytelling. And have a whole hell of a lot of fun doing it.
